Ashley Madekwe and Ashley Leggat
Madekwe was born into an ethnically diverse family. The father of her is Nigerian as well as Swiss as well as the mother of her is English. She was raised in the south of a London community estate, where she attended The Brit School at age 14. She studied acting at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, London. She appeared on stage in numerous productions during her time at school including the role of King Henry V, as Princess Katherine as well as Wuthering Heights, as Catherine Earnshaw.
Madekwe began her acting career with the film Storm Damage. The actress has been guest on Teachers Doctors Casualty Drop Dead Gorgeous. Madekwe's breakthrough came in 2007's Woody Allen movie Cassandra's Dream. It was opposite Colin Farrell (who played the role of Cassandra) and Ewan McGrath. After this success, Madekwe played Elisha in her role on the BBC Three drama pilot West 10 LDN and was featured on six of the episodes Trexx and Flipside. In 2008, Madekwe landed Bambi as the main character in the ITV2 show Secret Diary of a Call Girl. Madekwe made an appearance in the 2008 comedy feature film How to Lose Friends & Get People to Leave. Performance credits for Madekwe include Little Sweet Thing and Flight Path.
Madekwe made her US debut on The Beautiful Life in 2009. The series aired only two episodes on The CW, and was later removed from the air. Ashley Davenport, a character on ABC's Revenge drama series was cast to play Ashley Davenport. Madekwe appeared in all episodes of the show's first two seasons as an regular. But in May of 2013, announcement was made that she would be departing the show following her guest appearance on the opening episode for its third season. On the show Salem, she played Tituba in 2014 through the year 2016. Madekwe, along with her boyfriend for many years, Iddo Goldenberg, were married in June 2012. They've worked together in the show Secret Diary of a Call Girl and he also was a character on the show Salem.
Ashley Leggat was born in Hamilton, Ontario, into the extended family of a huge, large. Her family included her parents Roy and Patty along with four brothers who were older than them: Brett, Todd and Bram twins, Rob, and Brett. Ashley's athletic brothers played baseball during summers as well as hockey in winter. Ashley was never able to walk, however she did dance. As she was two and a half, she took up Baby Ballet and fell in love. Ashley began to develop a love of dancing after she started the Baby Ballet. Ashley competed in top-level divisions of tap, jazz hip hop, ballet the lyrical musical theatre, acrobatics as well as pointe until the time she completed from high school. She also won top soloists awards in all important dance competitions like the International Dance Challenge, Showstoppers, 56-7-8 Showtime, Flash Dance, Dance, Dance, Dance, among others.
